Waiting

Not much new to report. Sounds like they will do the follow-up bone marrow tap on Monday. This will let us know if he has to stay for further treatment, or if he gets to come home. Of course there will be maintance treatment, but at least we will have some direction for the month of April.

Talking to him yesterday, I learned that being hooked up to antibiotics through the IV lines has worn on him mentally. He feels like a prisoner when he has to be attached to the machine. He feels so much better when he is free to roam.

Also, that angry red rash is calming down each day.

Please continue to pray for healing and that the bone marrow tap goes smoothly. We should have results by Tuesday.

Much love,
Mic and Wendy

Dear Mr. Becerra,
This is Melissa Kipke - you knew me as Melissa Adley a.k.a. "Add and Subtract" =). My mom sent me the link to this blog after telling me of your condition. I can't express how sorry I am that you and your family are being put through all of this. However, if anyone can conquer this it's you!

I'm not sure if you remember me or not, but you had me as a student in Freshman English nine years ago! Having you as a teacher truly changed the course of my life. Because of your unique and wonderful teaching style, you inspired me to become an English teacher as well, and I thought you should know that. After high school I went to Ohio University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts in English. I'm currently attending Otterbein University in the grad program for Education and can't tell you how excited I am to be a teacher. I have repeatedly cited examples of your teaching in my education classes, and am constantly inspired by how you were able to reach out to and connect with your students.

I am married now, have a two-year-old son, and can only hope that I will be as good of a teacher as you were to me. I want you to know that you and your family are in our prayers and thoughts daily. Again, I 100% believe that if anyone can conquer something like this it's you.

I will continue to check in on this blog and your progress and pray for your recovery.

"WOW...MOM!" =)

Sincerely,

Melissa (Adley) Kipke

Mic and Wendy,
The news has been good lately...God is faithful! We will continue to keep you in our prayers, and trust that God will let His complete healing flow through all of you. Hope you get to go home to your family on Tuesday. :) That would be so cool! We love you!
