Update - Blood Clot

We found out this morning that the blood clot is in his right lung. It is near the wall of the lung where the nerve endings are located, which explains why he was experiencing so much pain. Have you ever had a cramp that makes it hard to take a deep breath? That's what he feels whenever he reclines or breathes in deeply.

They gave him some morphine to make him more comfortable and help him sleep. They also administered a mild blood thinner that will help with the clot. (It's a shot given in the stomach.) But because his platelet counts are so low, there is a concern for bleeding. We need those blood counts to go back up!

I'll be honest, yesterday evening was probably the most scary this experience has been so far. My mate is telling me he is having a hard time breathing and that there is pain in his chest. Looking at the hurt on his face, I remember thinking, "Oh no, they are going to be treating him for a heart attack!" If you don't know, Mic's dad passed away a year ago (5/6) due to a heart attack. We never in a million years thought his health would be affected by leukemia. We've always thought it would be his heart.

He does want you to know that he is feeling good today. His temperature is hanging out around 98 - 100. They continue to monitor the blood clot and his blood counts. We anticipate his counts will come up soon and that he will be back home cookin' in the kitchen with Brianna.
