Hey there! (Thought I should include this note just incase you were new to what we are dealing with. I wrote this note on Thursday, March 12.)
We received the results this afternoon from Dr. Payne, around 2:30. Mic has A.M.L. or an acute leukemia. (It's level M 4- which is average. It's the one time he's okay with being average.)
They are going to set him up with a central line, or port, so they don't have to keep sticking him (that was good news.) He starts chemo on Friday and will have intensive treatment for a week, then maintance treatment over the next 4-6 weeks.
His immune system is going to be knocked out, so as far as visitors, you have to be healthy. You may have to wear a mask. Definately use hand sanitizer, from the wall, when you walk in. (Don't be shy, he'd love to see you!)
Thank you for your prayers! The kids and I are fine.
Warmly,
Wendy Becerra
